This is in response to the consultation made by the Bicol Region Librarians Council (BRLC) Officers with the Bicol librarians, teachers, and BLIS students during the forum last January 2012 on the occasion of oath taking of new librarians.
The BRLC, in cooperation with the James O’Brien Library will conduct Review Classes on October 15 to 23, 2012 at 8:00 am to 5:00 pm at the Multipurpose Room, James O’Brien Library, Ateneo de Naga University.
This activity aims to 1) to review the foundations and theories in the six (6) major areas of Library & Information services ; 2) to discuss and examine the current problems and vital roles of librarians on the development of Philippine libraries ; 3) to survey librarians’ competency in the application of information technology in line with library services ; 4) to prepare participants for the librarians’ licensure examinations ; and, 5) to help BLIS students and prospective board examinees attend a formal review class without going to Manila.
Reviewers are teachers of Library and Information Science and practicing librarians from academic, public, and school libraries who are experts in their respective fields. A registration fee of Php 3,500.00 would cover handouts, honorarium, and other incidental expenses. A reservation fee of Php 1000 is required to be deductible from the registration fee payment.
